Learning Outcomes

The course is a basic introduction to the concepts of modeling, analysis and system design, emphasis on IT and communication systems for business and organizations.

Specifically is consolidate the understanding of techniques, models and methods used in the analysis and design of information and communication systems and the effective utilization of the IT projects in the management and development of information systems.

Understanding the growth mechanism and adaptation of techniques, models and methods to the needs of IT projects, the establishment of integrated methodologies as the content of the most representative of these methodologies.

Upon successful completion of this courses the student will be able to:

  • understanding basic and critical features of the systems and their connection with their environment.
  • knowing of the tools and techniques of Analysis and Planning systems
  • dealing with a case of a real system.
  • using analytical methodologies for systems design.
  • cooperating in a team in order to deal with a case of system study

Course Content

Techniques, models and methods of analysis and design of information systems. Conceptual, organizational and physical models. Technical of representations and optimization of data, information flows, filing systems, functions, procedures, organizational structure, systems equipment and network configurations. Models and technical design of man-machine communication and architecture of applications, Design of communication systems, design distributed information systems and multimedia information systems. Design Principles of specialized systems (decision support systems, information systems). Typology of methods and techniques. Representative methodologies for the analysis and design of information systems (such as IDEF, Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN), MERISE, UML, SysML Modeling). Phases of development, ways of exploiting technical, conducting studies, interventions and implementation of information systems.
