Short CV:

He holds a BSc. in Mathematics from the University of Athens, both “Licence & Diplome en Informatique” from the University of Geneva and a Ph.D in Informatics from the University of Limoges, France. He worked as a software engineer at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva (1980-82), as a computer analyst in the Greek Parliament (1984-87), as a database specialist in a multinational company (DEC) (1987-91) as a technical manager in a networking company SDR Hellas (1991-98) and as technical manager in TEI of Athens in the design, implementation and support of the state-of-the art campus facilities network of the Institution. He is now a lecturer in the Department of Informatics, TEI of Athens.

He designed, implemented and supported Wide and Local Area Networks all over Greece (Greek Sugar Industry, Greek Ministry of Finance TAXIS, Schools and Port Authorities of the Greek Merchant Marine, and others). He is member of the Network Technical Committee of TEI of Athens. He was Member of the Technical Committee for the acceptance of the new generation optical Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) of Greek Research Network (GRNET-2), furthermore he participates in many technical committees for feasibility studies, call of tenders, evaluation of tenders for network implementations, equipment purchases and Personnel hiring.

His research area is Network Security, Evolutionary Artificial Neural Networks (EANN) and Intelligent Visualization Systems for Knowledge Extraction and Decision Making (Visual Analytics).
